OKC to Istanbul

Well, I’m laying on my bed at the hotel in Istanbul typing away at my PDA for this post.The country of Turkey is absolutely beautiful with all it’s history and culture.Here is a short recap of my trip so far:turkey 060

  • Take off from OKC to Detroit
  • Land in Detroit and frantically run from Terminal C to A to catch my flight to JFK
  • Meet with group in NY
  • Fly Turkish Airlines on Airbus A340 (it’s a very large plane with free movies, games etc.
  • It seemed liked they fed us every other hour…
  • Land at Istanbul-Ataturk Airport and buy visa
  • We flew over London, Germany, and Bulgaria
  • Istanbul is very modern and clean outside of the airport
  • We are staying in a very beautiful hotel on the European side of Istanbul (thank you, Air Force!)
  • They’ve provided us with a card for food and transportation…
  • Lunch: chicken, fries, tomato soup at Istanbul restaurant (very American sounding, but not in taste)
  • Dinner: Spinach, beans, shrimp, chiles, fish,ice cream, fruit, watermelon, erik (Turkish for plums)
  • Played cards in the hotel at night
  • Wake up at 0700 tomorrow
