Koç Üníversítesí

Today was a little shorter because our group has on average only been getting about 6 hours of sleep a night …there’s just so much to do! I talked with Megan in Germany last night for about seven or eight minutes (2 euro per minute, yikes!). Here is what we did today:
  • Woke up at 0730…slept a little longer to catch up on sleep. Didn’t have time for breakfast
  • Extended language lesson for two hours with Arzu (foods, ordering at a restaurant, etc.)
  • Visit to Koç Üníversítesí, a private school near the Black Sea. Awesome campus, very modern buildings but has only 3,000+ students. Lunch in the student cafeteria (potatos, beef, water, and desert)
  • Drive back south to central Istanbul (1 hour drive) to visit art museum located on the Bosphorus River. Sakip Sabanci’s former villa turned museum. Viewed collection of very old arabic texts from Ottoman era
  • Dinner at Harvard Café, nice American-food restaurant (pizza, bread, water, birthday cake)
  • Early return to hotel. Workout in exercise room for a little over an hour.

No sunburn yet!
