Topkapi Sarayi
- Woke up at 0700, had breakfast downstairs
- Language lesson with Emre, worksheets. Lecture by KSU Alum over recent Turkish history
- Drove along Hippodrome, ancient racing track. Saw ancient Egyptian and Greek oblisks(sp?) near Ayasofya and Blue Mosque
- Tour of Topkapi Sarayi (Topkapi Palace) the palace of Ottoman Sultans for hundreds of years and source of power. Viewed ancient relics such as the Prophet Mohammed’s beard and sword. Holy Relics also there (King David’s sword, Moses’ staff, John the Baptist’s skull)
- Lunch overlooking Bosphorus River (kebap, salad, pastry, fanta)
- Visit the Sultan’s Harem
- Performance by Ottoman Military Band on palace grounds
- ístabul Arkeoloji Muzeieri (Alexander’s Tomb, Roman and Greek statues and mosaics from 2nd century AD
- Walk around Spice Market again
- Dinner alomg side streets close to hotel (sandwich with ketchup, kebap, fries inside)
- Return to hotel for the night
